Scent Club x Olfiction: An Evening with Nick Gilbert
We’re delighted to introduce our first brand collaboration with independent fragrance house, Olfiction, founded by perfumer Pia Long and evaluator Nick Gilbert.
Their work brings together perfumery and storytelling, creating fragrances that explore ideas, memories, culture and imagination.
With decades of experience in the fragrance industry between them, Pia and Nick have worked across fine fragrance, fragrance education and consultancy, as well as developing their own creative projects including Eau de Boujee and Lab Editions. We’re delighted to welcome Nick to Bristol Scent Club for an evening of smelling, stories and a closer look at the creative world behind the scents.
Nick will share insights into the creative process behind their perfumes and talk about his journey in the fragrance industry: from starting out selling perfume in Bristol before moving to London, being headhunted by Penhaligon's for a role in fragrance development and marketing, working with some of the best known noses in the industry, creating best-selling fragrances, and travelling the globe before co-founding Olfiction with Pia.

These events are relaxed and inclusive, welcoming anyone interested in learning more about fragrance - you don’t have to be a connoisseur! Guests are invited to bring along a favourite scent to introduce to the group for an interactive and collaborative experience.
We will have just returned from Pitti Fragrance in Forence so will have lots of new discoveries and stories to share!

Join Bristol’s emerging fragrance community for an evening of smelling, chatting, sharing and connecting.
These events are an opportunity for scent lovers to gather and explore a variety of incredible fragrances in a relaxed and friendly environment. Sophie (founder of Bristol Scent Club) and Maria (Shy Mimosa) have a combined three decades of experience in the fragrance industry. We’re there to answer any questions you have and will be sharing some of the scents we’re personally loving this summer. Guests are invited to bring along a favourite fragrance to introduce to the group for an interactive and collaborative experience.

We’re delighted to announce our first BSC community meet-up at Shy Mimosa Perfumery in Clifton Village and we’d love you to join us!
This will be an opportunity for Bristol’s emerging fragrance community to gather and connect over a shared love of scent. Explore a variety of perfumes in a relaxed and friendly environment, where Sophie and Maria - founder of Shy Mimosa - will introduce you to Bristol Scent Club along with some of the fragrances they’ve been enjoying this Spring.
You’re welcome to bring along a favourite scent that you’d like to share with the group, too!
Enjoy a glass of bubbles on arrival and a small gift to take home with you at the end of the evening.
Why Bristol Scent Club?
The idea for Bristol Scent Club came to founder, Sophie Mawby - a life long lover of perfume and industry professional - when she moved from London to Bristol at the end of 2019 and released that, apart from the beautiful Shy Mimosa Perfumery, there was very little else on offer for people that love and appreciate fragrance. Over the last decade the fragrance scene has exploded in many cities around the world…why is Bristol so far behind? A seed was planted and Sophie became intent on establishing and growing a community for people that want to connect over their shared passion for fragrance and who long to have easier access to workshops, events and meet ups without having to hop on a train. BSC is in its infancy but we know there are plenty of Bristol folk that would love to have more in-person access to the world of scent - join us if you have a nose and like to use it!
